The Armenian Hall of Fame — staged by the Armenian Class at Watertown High in the front hall next to the Main Office — will be up until late April.

Imagine if we didn’t have…

… cement mixers, the MRI, bendy straws, the color of US money, ATM, asthma inhalers, waffle ice cream cones, Star Market, Delta single-handle water faucets, Mounds and Almond Joy candy bars, Teddie Peanut Butter, Reddit, Alex & Ani Jewelry, The Improper Bostonian, the Mars Rover Project, the Coca-Cola plastic bottle, Alvin and the Chipmunks, the handheld UPC code scanner, Zildjian cymbals and drums…..

These are only a few of the inventions by Armenians you can find on the “Armenian Hall of Fame” bulletin board, next to the Main Office at Watertown High School. The board also includes many other Armenian scientists, journalists, musicians, movie producers, authors, sports figures, artists, and composers. It will be up until the end of April.

During the past few weeks in Armenian class, students have been researching famous Armenians and their impact on the world.  They are very proud of the contributions Armenians have made in this world, but they are left to ask this question:  How many more Armenian inventors or scientists or artists could there have been, if it were not for the genocide in 1915?

Please stop by this display in the lobby and check it out.  You may be quite surprised by what you find!!
