Lin, 4×400 relay team win Division 4 state indoor track titles

Sophomore Austin Lin starred Sunday, Feb. 16, as the Watertown boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams shined at the Division 4 state track meet at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Lin captured his first state title of the day by winning the 300 meters in 36.37 seconds. Later, he joined senior James Garbier, junior Prosper Lubega, and senior Nick Soares in winning the 4×400 relay in 3 minutes 30.38 seconds.

Garbier earlier came in fourth in the 1,000, finishing in 2:34.92.

For the WHS girls, senior Lea Strangio almost won the 600, but she was edged by Holliston sophomore Sydney Snow, who won in 1:40.32. Strangio finished .05 seconds back at 1:40.37.
