It was an exciting weekend of high school sports at Victory Field with Watertown High School teams participating in three MIAA postseason state tournaments.

The top-seeded WHS football team beat No. 4 Newburyport, 27-10, on Friday night. The Raiders (8-1) will host No. 2 Triton (7-2) on Friday, Nov. 11, in the Division 3 North finals. The winner will go on to play in the state semifinals and a chance to play in the Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium.

The No. 8 WHS boys’ soccer team fell to No. 9 North Reading, 2-1, in double overtime in the Division 3 North play on Saturday night. The Raiders (9-8-2) had a historic year, winning the Middlesex League (Freedom Division) title for the first time in school history.

The top-seeded field hockey team beat No. 8 Weston, 6-1, on Friday afternoon. The Raiders (19-0) will play No. 5  Triton (14-4-2) in the Division 2 North semifinals at Reading High at 5:30 p.m. The winner of that game will play in the sectional final Saturday at 11 a.m. at North Andover High School.
