What class would you like to see offered at Watertown High School and why?

After being asked this question, 12 students responded with funny, thoughtful, creative, and unique answers about classes they would like to see at Watertown High School.

Shannon Foley, junior: Marine biology because there are no classes like that and it would give people an education of the world outside of their own.

Sara O’Connell, junior: I think there needs to be a decision-making skills class. This school is seriously lacking common sense.

Molly Day, junior: Theology because I think it’s important for people to understand and accept different cultures.

Sasha Helfner, sophomore: A rapping class! Rapping is really fun.

Rebecca Hellman, junior: Current events. There are so many important issues in the world and many times they go unnoticed by high school students.

Kayla Furbish, junior: I think that our school should offer creative writing. Writing fiction is important because it would give students an outlet for self expression and allow them to learn about themselves and others in a creative way that is unique to every writer.

Danilo Ibner, senior: Engineering because I’m going into computer engineering and that would be a great place to start.

Kira Peterson, sophomore: Theatre! It would be a great creative outlet.

Tina Touri, junior: A life-skills class. As of right now, when I graduate high school, I won’t know how to get loans for college, buy a car or house, or file taxes. I don’t know how to live.

Cody McMahon, junior: We should have auto – everyone should learn general maintenance on cars.

Devon Kelleher, junior: “We should have a drama class to expand the arts department and encourage kids to become involved in the arts.”
