They look at me as if I’m from another planet,

I may identify myself as American, but turns out I’m wrong.

Even though I was born in America and I’m an American citizen,

They still only see me as Asian.

When filling out any forms, there is a box to mark your ethnicity.

It doesn’t say Asian-American, it just says Asian.

Anywhere I go, “You’re Asian,”

“Do you speak Chinese?”

Being Asian, they associate me with China,

They stereotype me based on my ethnicity and looks.

Where do I fit in?
