WHS shows it has a host of talent

Watertown High is a very diverse community, filled with diverse talents, like singers … and singers … and singers.

The second annual Watertown High School Talent Show took place on May 13. And like all good things, it was better the second time around.

This year the show’s producers, Meghan Riling and William MacLaughlin, decided to enlist co-hosts with hopes they could become a dynamic duo. The co-hosts were Marisa Russo and Edgar Mutebi.

Marisa had never been a host before, but said she has always wanted to since WMS Talent Show days.

“I wanted to make everyone laugh during the show,’’ she said.

Up until the show started, she was hesitant. Behind the curtains, she said her heart was racing while she worried about the crowd’s reaction would be and whether it would laugh with her or at her.

     But who wouldn’t worry?

It’s a lot of pressure to get up in front of a good-sized crowd of people, with the spotlight shining in your eyes, and the pressure of everybody staring can be ridiculous.

After a rocky start, the hosts did well, and the acts proved to be a lot of fun. The crowd had a great time.
