The Annual Topsfield Fair Entertains New Englanders
From September 29, 2012through October 8, 2012, thousands of people from all over New England made a trek to the Topsfield Fair in Topsfield, Massachusetts, where they found everything from live entertainment to agricultural displays. What they also found there was possibly the largest pumpkins, fruits and vegetables, poultry, goats, they had ever seen, along with rabbit shows. The fair also had a fiddler, who played the same music they played 200 years ago. Everyone was participating in an activity.
They had multiple shows, and acts varied from townspeople to big time performers, such as Youtube sensation, Austin Mahone, Hot Chelle Rae, known for their hit song Tonight, Tonight, and Bridgit Mendler, who most people know from her character, Teddy Duncan, on the show Good Luck Charlie. Judging from the crowd’s faces, the audience enjoyed Mendler’s performance, as well as the band
Also at the Topsfield Fair was a new record-winning pumpkin grown by Ron Wallace from Greene, Rhode Island. The 2012 world champion pumpkin weighed 2,009.0 lbs. They also had the Hugh Wilber Award, for the largest circuit squash.
The kind of food you found at the Topsfield Fair was all fried, from fried Twinkies and Oreos to fried Kool-Aid. Some folks even dressed up in costumes and some were actors from Spooky World. The rides and games kept the Fair goers alive. That was the Topsfield Fair, where the music was cultural and the rides kept the crowd entertained.
