Drax (played by Dave Bautista) is one of the “Guardians of the Galaxy”.

“Guardians of the Galaxy,” directed by James Gunn, is the first of hopefully many “Guardian” movies.

This story follows Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) — also known as Star-Lord — and his gang of interstellar misfits. His gang consists of Groot, a walking tree; Rocket, a talking raccoon; Gamora, a highly skilled assassin; and Drax, a very strong individual who is not to be trifled with. Together they are the Guardians of the Galaxy and will protect the galaxy from Ronan the Accuser.

Ronan, a Kree radical, despises his people’s peace treaty with the Xandarians (a civilization that consists of many humanoid-like beings) and seeks to destroy all of Xandar. Ronan seeks a powerful artifact that the Guardians of the Galaxy attempt to keep out of his possession.

Despite a hectic start, Peter and his gang of misfits end up becoming amazing friends and even better heroes.

What sets this apart from other Marvel movies is that it takes place in space and the price of failure is much higher than in previous Marvel movies. If the Guardians fail to protect the artifact, then the whole galaxy is doomed — not just one planet.

Gunn managed to perfectly balance the comedy and action in the movie, impressive because not many movies have been able to successfully do that.

This movie is a must-see for anyone that enjoys superheroes, comedies, and action flicks. No previous knowledge about Marvel movies is needed to enjoy “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

This movie is recommended for all ages. There is some slight explicit language and minor sexual situations, but, besides that, this movie is the perfect summer flick!

I would give this movie a 10 out of 10. I loved this movie. It is definitely the best movie I’ve seen all year. “Guardians of the Galaxy” is the best action-comedy movie of the summer!
