She’s not only the nicest teacher …

Watertown High math teacher Karen Trenholm

I have had the pleasure of seeing Karen Trenholm’s face every day of my high school career.

Ms. Trenholm isn’t like any other teacher I’ve ever had in my life. She’s the most kind, caring, and hilarious teacher I’ve had. She puts her students first and makes sure that each student is working to the best of their abilities. She’s always been there for me whenever I’m having a bad day and she sure does give the best advice.

On Fridays, Ms. Trenholm brings three dozen donuts for the students and faculty. She has a jar of pencils for whenever students forget them and, with her own money, bought 12 calculators and has a huge supply of paper. At the end of the year in all her classes, she supplies donuts, bagels, drinks, and ice cream for class parties.

But Ms. Trenholm is not only the nicest teacher, I believe she’s the best teacher.

I’ve had the pleasure of being Ms. Trenholm’s peer advisor every Day 3 for the past two years. She cares so much for each individual student and makes sure that each and every one of them succeeds.

Whenever someone doesn’t understand something, she doesn’t hesitate to go over the problem again and make sure the student fully understands it. She doesn’t rush through teaching and thoroughly goes over the work.

Ms. Trenholm is always in her classroom bright and early helping students and after school doing the same. When Ms. Trenholm has a free period, she’s always helping students.

She’s a hard-working and dedicated person who cares for every single student. She’s the reason I’ve been so successful in math, which was a huge struggle for me.

I’m so grateful to have had her in my life and I will miss her greatly. I’ll miss her funny jokes and her laugh, but I will never forget all the good times.
