America’s favorite ice cream shop, Ben & Jerry’s, has officially opened a new location in Watertown, Mass. It is located at Arsenal Yards near Shake Shack.

Ben & Jerry’s has made a huge name for themselves with more than 500 locations in the United States after they started as a small catering truck in Burlington, Vt., in 1978. Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, who were childhood best friends, got into the business after finding themselves unable to get into medical school.

The Watertown store is run by Linny, who has been a Ben & Jerry’s manager for three years. She also said she loves that everyone she works with is like a “big family.”

“I hang out with many of them outside of the job,” she said.

When asked what qualities she wanted from her employees, she said, “I expect them to have great customer service.”

To attract costumers to the new store, Ben & Jerry’s has been advertising on social media. It also donated ice cream to Newton-Wellesley Hospital to show appreciation to the nurses and patients.

Every year, Ben & Jerry’s produces about six new flavors and Linny explained that she attends a“global franchise meeting for a taste test,” which sounded awesome. She said her favorite ice cream flavor is Milk and Cookies, which is a bit similar to the famous Oreo flavor.

Be sure to check out the new Ben and Jerry’s at Arsenal Yards and give this awesome place a try!
