Watertown High girls’ basketball doubles up Oakmont Regional

The Watertown High girls’ basketball team bounced visiting Oakmont Regional from the MIAA Division 3 state tournament, winning, 44-22, on Friday, March 3.

With the win, the 14th-seeded Raiders (11-9) advance to play at No. 3 Bishop Fenwick (14-7) in the round of 16 on Tuesday, March 7. Oakmont, the 19th seed, finished the season 12-9.

The boys’ hockey team is also still alive in the MIAA Division 3 state tournament. The No. 5 Raiders (12-6-3) are scheduled to host No. 12 Dracut (16-4-1) at John A. Ryan Arena at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, weather permitting.
