Watertown High basketball teams begin with doubleheader

Boys’ team falls to Wakefield before girls’ team wins as 2019-20 season tips off

The Watertown High School basketball teams opened their seasons with a doubleheader against visiting Wakefield on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019. The boys’ team fell in the opener, 49-47, before the girls’ team pulled out a 43-42 victory. For a gallery from opening night by Raider Times staff photographer Emma Fallon, click on the link above.

After the Raiders’ second games were postponed by snow, both teams will return to action on Friday, Dec. 20, with another doubleheader. The boys’ team will play host to Melrose at 5:15 p.m., followed by the girls’ varsity game at 7 p.m.
