Watertown High School will be home to an entertainment doubleheader on Thursday, Nov. 20, that will be enjoyable for the whole family.
The first WHS Coffeehouse performance of the year is quickly approaching, and Mr. Cooke and the other performers are getting excited! The event will take place in the Lecture Hall, on Thursday, Nov., 20, at 5 p.m.,and will allow students and teachers to demonstrate their talents to the WHS community.
Poets, singers, and actors are all welcome to participate!
Some scheduled performances will include duets by Zoe Grodsky and Rebecca Grossman, and another by Katherine Nilov and Hakeem Alhady. Jake Roche and Mr. Cooke will also team up for a guitar duet, and students Sandra Chacon and Jeremy Ornstein will be reciting poetry. Look for rapping accompanied by the piano as well.
Anya Gellerman, who is planning on being in the audience, is also anticipating the event.
“I am really excited to see everyone’s amazing acts,” she said.
“I know everyone will do a fantastic job and the audience will enjoy it a lot!”
Refreshments will be sold, with all proceeds used to support Writer’s Ink and the Coffeehouse Club, but admission is free.
Be sure to stop by the Lecture Hall this Thursday at 5 p.m. to witness spectacular performances put on by WHS students and faculty!
After the Coffeehouse will be the second part of the entertainment doubleheader.
On Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m., Watertown High School will be hosting hypnotic genius Dan Candell.
Last April, Candell amazed WHS students and faculty with his “hypnotic adventure” full of laughter and fun. Senior Class president Kayla Johnson attended that show and said, “Dan Candell put on a great show last year and, with popular request, we were very excited to invite him back.”
It’s not too late to buy tickets. You can buy tickets in advance for $8 during all three school lunches at WHS or purchase them at the door for $10 each. Proceeds go to the Class of 2015.
“We hope this year has an even bigger turnout than the last!” said Johnson.
Come join Dan Candell’s show of laughter and excitement at Watertown High School on Thursday at 7 p.m.!
